St. Patrick’s Day
- St.Patrick was a saint of Ireland. Patrick was a Christian figure, he was taken prisoner by the Irish Raiders in the war. At the age of 16, Patrick was taken away into a the group of Irish Raiders and held for 6 years. As for taken away from his family he worked as an outdoor person and eventually turned to the religion of Christianity. Patrick felt alone and unworthy.
- St. Patrick's Days occurs every year on March 17, a day of remembrance of St. Patrick. Patrick died on March 17 around 460 A.D. This holiday is a global celebration of Irish culture. St. Patrick was originally born in Britain, he was not Irish.
- March 17 is the designated death of St. Patrick, but we remember them because they were involved in the war. The US had a war with Mexico for the expansion of the United States. The group of the Irish Raiders were involved.
- It is believed that wearing green was one of the colors of Irelands flag. Originally the color would have been blue, but around the 17th century it changed. Also, green is a colorful and bright color. For example the shamrock is used a resemblance of Ireland.
- To include other information, St. Patrick wasn’t Irish he was taken away from his family and grew up in Ireland. Also, the shamrock was a teaching tool to represent the Holy Trinity which includes the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to the Irish. Also, as a celebration around the world people dye their rivers green.
