Physician Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities: Physician Assistants are also known as PA’s. What they do is they examine and work with patients on medical histories they have had. Physician Assistants exam, diagnose, and treat patients with medicines. Physician Assistants collaborate with health professionals to help with any care. Beside reviewing and checking medical history of a patient, they also educate and prescribe medicine to patients on their health. They are found in offices, hospitals,clinics,etc. As for attendance, they only need to be present 2-4 times a week working 12 hour shifts.

Salary: $101,480

Education: To become a Physician Assistant you must earn and obtain a Master’s Degree from an certified program and a Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related work. As for certification, to become certified you must pass an exam. The exam that has to be past to become licensed and certified is the National Commision on Certification of Physician Assistant exam. Passing this exam follows up completing 100 hours of continuing education every 2 years.

Demand for this profession: 30% by 2024

Summary: I personally have an interest of now becoming a Physician Assistant. This sound like a job that I would like to do in the future. I believe it fits me because, I only want to work little days throughout the week with a high pay as well as continuing my education. This job career was presented by me by a friend. A close friend of mine is studying to become one of these professionals and is really interested in becoming one.

This quote is from one of our founding fathers. What this quote is saying is that luxury isn’t something beautiful and useful, what really is something big is a right heart. A right heart exceeds more than luxuries, money, popularity,etc. What this quote is saying is the right heart is the best of the best. A right heart is what will make you move and do more, but everything else won’t. For example, beauty and having everything won’t get you anywhere. Having a great heart is having different good qualities in one. Having the great heart is what will give you the courage to succeed and do more, you work hard and you earn it. Money can’t buy you everything. Looking back at great successors, they didn’t come from a high income family. To be the wealthiest you must go through the hard. Most of our successors today all were poor and didn’t have much. Education and the right heart led them to their success today.

A great example, to follow up all successors today were not high income families. Based on my knowledge and viewings on others, not everyone had everything in there hands today. Having the right heart gives you courage, determination, confidence, etc to go more in depth for a specific goal. Others who have money will most likely try to buy that. Great beauty, great strength, and great riches are truly in use when they are develop in the right heart. The right heart puts you in obstacle that end up with great open doors and success. A great heart is a great heart, money cant help you succeed in everything.

This three word statement is clearly said. From the words from Mark Twain,” Always do right”. What this statement is saying is to always choose the right. Being a CTR person gets you away from being a CTW person. Becoming a CTR person, you will always be able to identify the right from wrong. Having the ability of Choosing the Right gives you the ability to always do what is right. Doing wrong brings consequences, doing what is right brings you success and opportunities. Always doing the right brings you good in you life. When you do good you feel good. Choosing the Right is always doing right. Always doing the right gives you a good name and label on yourself. Good labels on yourself gives you a positive outlook to help you for a future opportunity and having good trust in others. Doing good helps you avoid the negativity and the guilt you can face, because your actions have consequences. When you do what is wrong, actions have consequences. These consequences can lead us to do wrong and have a bad image on yourself. Avoiding this can prevent mistrust of our bright future ahead of us.

A good example that will fit this quote is rules. Rules are given to us time to time and to add we have expectations. When we break rules and expectations others have for yourself we are doing wrong. Therefore, when we do what is right and follow expectations and rules we are doing right. Doing what is right will lead us to success. Other people in our life set up rules and expectation on us, because they know it will help us succeed. For example, teachers and staff members. Every teacher and staff member in the district and in high school want you to see each student graduate and have a future ahead of them. Every parent's desire is to see their children cross the stage and have a well future ahead of them. Always doing what is right will bring a good future.

Nurse

Nurse

Duties and Responsibilities: Nurses are found in hospital. Being a Nurse can mean different thinks. In the career profession of being a nurse they have different positions. Nurses are in charge of taking care of the patients in the hospital. They are responsible to help prepare for the doctor on your visit. These professionals monitor your medical history, they do a physical on you, they manage your medications,etc. Nurses care for you being they hand you to the doctor. Nurses also educate others on the best choices to make to help an individual in a disease or diet plan. Nurses can be also located in private physician offices, nursing care facilities, home health care clinics, and for the government. 

Salary: $66,640 (depends your position)

Education: To become a nurse you need an Associates Degree in Nursing, it is a 2 year degree that is offered at community colleges and hospital related schools that help prepare for nursing care. They also need a Bachelors Degree in Science for nursing, its offered at colleges and universities. To add too Nurses are required to go for training and pass a licensing exam.

Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one?" Why or why not?

I would not consider to be a nurse, but i chose this topic because a family member of mine is on the path to become one. As the younger family member i see my older family members and see what they are doing with their life. As i grown up, based on the career choice they are doing i would like to learn more about it. Being a nurse sound like and easy but difficult job. I see being a nurse means having a lot of patients and care for to help others through sickness and health. I may not have an interest in becoming a nurse, but i do know my older family member will enjoy it.

Environmental Health Specialist

Environmental Health Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities: Environmental Health Specialist are the specialist who focus on health for a person. Environmental Health specialist focus on our area. They are also called health inspectors or safety inspector. They are responsible to determine health hazards and transform them to good health.  These inspectors check our surrounding around our community. For example, they are in charge of inspecting how clean and what violates the health hazards that affect us, they check resturants,stories,factories,schools,nursing homes, hospitals, dentist, etc. T=As they inspect they are in charge of collecting sample of air,water,pollutions,etc to test the sample if they can harm our health.

Salary: $37,300 - $57,551

Education: Environmental Health Specialist are required to have a bachelor degree in the work of physical sciences,public health,chemistry,biology, and environmental engineering. Then based on the position you would like to work, if you decide you want to work especially for the government they need to complete a certified course by the state. Besides that, also to become a environmental health specialist they would need to go through training and certification through a National Environmental Health Association.

Demand for this profession: Grow between 10% - 20% by 2024.

Reflection: I would consider to become an Environmental Health Specialist so i can help others. I feel that because of these specialist where are sick free and we are not in a so bad pollution. Without these health specialist we can eat and be intoxicated with bacteria that can get us sick. If i were to become a health specialist i can help changed the world and improve someone well being. I would somewhat consider this profession.

Student Success Statement

"Goal setting is goal getting. Set and get"

Goals is what bring you above and better. What you put in is what you get. Goals are what are suppose to help you achieve something that you want to accomplish. For example, setting a goal to lose 5 pounds. Goal setting is a way to put your mind into and body if necessary too. This quote is very straight forward of what a goal is in general. You get what you get. Goal setting is creating a goal and aiming to achieve it. Goal setting can be from the smallest to biggest things to affect you in a positive way, to make you feel better, to be a better person,etc. Goals are something specific you eant to gain an understanding too or affect too yourself or others. A goal is something specific,valid, and believable that you can set to make a change. To achieve a goal you must give the effort to do it, you get what you give.

Goals can be used to help create and do something new or improved in you. A great way to create a goal is when you are in sport or your own imagine on yourself. I personally create personal goals and I create goals for my athletic self. In the sport Volleyball, others see it as easy, but it isn't. Others think it easy when you see, but when you do its a different story. I personally set goals to do and achieve better in this sport. For example, before season started my goal was too have the position 4,hitter, with time and dedication i became that position. I found this position my weakness, because i didn't really know how to hit or the actual steps and position to hit. It was very hard to learn, but now i conquered and became the position. Goal setting brings the better you. 

Surgeons

Surgeons

Duties and Responsibilities: Surgeons are professionals who perform medical procedures on a human being to help recovery from a issues happening in the body. Their are different types of surgeons. Different type of surgeries include plastic surgery, oral surgery, reconstructive surgery,etc. Surgery is something involved with blood. Surgeons work in clinics and hospitals. They help us treat real bad diseases and injuries in our body to help us recover. Being a surgery means knowing what you got to do and analyze and do what is right in the person's body. Surgeons use special to cut open and try to do something in the inside of our body.

Salary: $247,520 per year.

Education:  Surgeons are required to have a Doctoral Degree (M.D.) , 3-8 years of surgery residency in the hospital, earn a bachelor's degree related to medicine and pass the Medical College exam to then apply to medical school to gain more knowledge and expert in patients care and medical basics.

Demand for this profession: 20% increase by 2024.

Reflection:

I personally wouldn't want to be a surgeon because of the facts you do on others but involves blood and treating them with special different types of tools. I chose this career profession because i found it interesting and how one of my family member maybe studying to be involved in this career. I used this career to learn more about it and what my family relative will be studying to soon become one. I find it cool how she will possibly become one, but i wouldn’t see myself in this profession.

Spencer W. Kimball

"We learn to do by doing"

Repetition is key. Repetition is what leads to continuously doing which means practicing more. This quote actually states that practicing makes better. What this quote is saying, when you start something and you continue you are are learning to do something, you are trying something new. This quote also states to me is to do something new in your life. If you wanna learn to do something new, having a start and continuing brings better understanding of what must be done. In order to learn something we must have a start in something to continue doing to understand the best to do the best. We learn to do by doing it, according to Spencer. Spencer is clearly stating what must be done to learn how to do something new.  Learn something new means having start.

A great example in a real life situation is learning how to play a sport. I personally am in a sport, volleyball. When i first started to go to my practices and try to accomplish my goal to be qualified for an actual game it was a struggle. When i first started i was in pain, i was sore from the exercises and the learning the basics. I didn't quit and i didn't stop. I wanted to reach my goal. As time went by i achieve and accomplished more. I finally learned how to play volleyball. I actually found volleyball very hard, people say it's easy but its not. If you stick to doing something you will learn to do that something and do it proficiently. 

Ear, Nose , and Throat Doctor

Ear Nose Throat Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities: Ear Nose and Throat doctors are professionals who focus for medical and surgical treatments related to any problems and also in the head and neck area. These doctors are also known as Otolaryngologist. In the ears they focus on hearing,infections, nerves, and disorders. In the throat they focus on treatment of diseases like in your esophagus that can result in trouble of swallowing and difference in your voice. In the nose they deal with sinusitis, when cavities around the nasal passage become inflated. Sinusitis is an infection in the nose.

Salary: $180,000 - $230,000 per year.

Education: Otolaryngologist are required to have at least 5 years in training in surgery, one year in general surgery, and four years in otolaryngology. These specialist need a medical  bachelors degree in science.

Demand or need for this profession: Profession needed, hope by 2025 profession increases by 2,000 new otolaryngologist.

REFLECTION: I would not consider having this profession. This profession seems like a very easy job focus and pays very well. I wouldn’t see myself doing this job in the future even though it seems easy and pays well. This job is under the medical field. I personally am not interested to focus this career in my future. I do not have an interest in the medical field or anything that involves blood.

LAUSD

LAUSD Student Services

Student services is working to help in difficult situations at home and surrounding that affects their education.  Student services include athletics, knowing what is going to be served throughout the day, school safety, graduation requirements, college and career information, online learning,etc.These are some examples on what was provided on the LAUSD website, these are student services to help us inform about our school district. These school services are important, because they practical sum up the student expectations in their education or daily life. I personally am in a sport, volleyball, and it's part of my daily life as a student-athlete. I never knew that LAUSD would have a certain place in their website relating to the student and their sport. I find this very helpful and very smart to apply the schools around LAUSD to post up for the student-athletes. Another, school safety is also very important to know. With this i can read and see how to not freak out in a situation, cause i do that. Also, graduation requirements and college and career information are very very helpful for me as well. These sections in the website help me get informed on what are the expectation to be able to graduate and with this knowledge i can know what courses to take to be one step closer in my career future choice. Finally, the last one was learning online section. We can learn online , but we can also use when we need help too. The LAUSD website has more than what i expected and i found that very good and useful.
