Optometrist
Duties and Responsibilities: Optometrist are professional doctors that work with your eyes visuals. Optometrist diagnose and treat patients with any related diseases or disorder with the human eyes. Optometrist are responsible to be comfortable talking with the patients, have good evaluating skills for results, make patients feel comfortable and aware of what must and will be done,etc. Optometrist prescribe and diagnose problems with the eyes. In result, treatment will determine if in need of surgery or prescribe glasses or contacts.

Salary: $103,900 per year.

Education: To become an Optometrist you need a Bachelor's degree to then also earn your O.D degree and obtain a license. An O.D degree is the Doctoral or professional Degree. To earn their O.D degree they must complete at least 3 years of postsecondary education. To complete to earn your O.D degree you must attend a certified O.D program that can take minimum of 4 years. To add on, they must pass the O.D test and a state exam to become certified.

Demand or need for this profession: 27% by 2024.

Reflection: I would not like to become an Optometrist, because it’s not something for me. To add on, I do not desire to be in the Medical Field. Becoming an Optometrist wouldn’t be the best job, because my eyesight isn’t really the best. Also, to become an Optometrist I would need to be very aware of what I do and what can be done to help other patients out, but I can have trouble with that. Becoming an Optometrist isn’t one of the careers I desire to do in the future as well as not be involved in the Medical Field.
