Pathologist
Duties and Responsibilities: A pathologist is a professional who examines tissues, the organs, body fluids, and autopsy in a human to diagnose a disease. They are the ones who determine the cause and creation of an disease. They are responsibly of analyzing the individual for any abnormal features to then conclude a treatment. Pathologist are physicians who research test, blood examinations, etc.
Salary: $191,945
Education: To become a Pathologist you are required to obtain a bachelor's or Doctor of Medicine degree. It takes an average of 12 years to become a Pathologist. What is required also is a Medical Doctor Degree, both M.D and D.O programs to be completely. As well, 1-2 years of training in the field. To become a licensed Pathologist you must pass the state medical license exam and become certified through the pathology board certification.
Demand or need for this profession: 14% by 2024
Reflection: I would not consider seeing myself in this profession. To add on, this medical career isn’t really in my interest and not really in my comfort zone. I would not want to become a Pathologist, because it involved working with other people inside fluids and part of the body. As for me I do not desire to be in a career that involves any contact with these parts.
